White Wedding Dresses with Train

I had my wedding 10 years ago. I was looking for something unique, bohemian, weddingy but not to traditional. That season it seemed that the designers had all got together and decided girlie girl was in. I looked like I belonged on the top of a cake. I found I did not have allot of options and I was even contemplating having something made to order.

Carmen Marc Valvo Wedding Dresses

Walking past a rack on another endless bridal store treck I stumbled upon a Carmen Marc Valvo off-white embroidered and beaded dress with a matching lace long jacket. Though the two pieces were not meant to go together when I put them on it was the look I was searching for - vintage inspired, figure flattering, Eureka!!! I was thrilled!!! and relieved I had found “The Dress”.

As a clothing stylist I like to have options for a photo shoot. You know when you have put the right look together for the camera. It’s the same as bridal dress shopping some dresses just work better than others on the models. You do know when you have found the right one.

Wedding Dresses Online

I wish I was walking down the aisle again - the options are endless for brides in 2010! Wedding dress designers are taking their inspiration directly off the runways and red carpet show stoppers.

Trends like the one shoulder, the high low hem, ruffles at the neck or skirt, scalloped tiers, raw edging, ruching, pleating, bubble hems, sheer fabrics, prints in black or metallic, and lace are not just a trend you are seeing in ready to wear but in Bridal as well.

Wedding Accessories

I also love the couture details showing up on the latest 2010 gowns like oversized bows, floral accents, crystals & jewels, vintage inspiration, metallic detailing, feathers, and practical pockets.

The bridal designers are channeling “Mad Men” with 50’s inspired tea length gowns and think Carrie Bradshaw when you see the new improved Bridal suit. The revival of the Bridal minidress is so ala Jackie O’. The looks are chic, modern, and sophisticated.

2010 Wedding Gown Designs

I cannot forget to mention the veil which has transformed itself into mini top hats, birdcage veils, the classic pillbox and many other clever millinery designs that pop into the designers heads.

I personally love the wide variety of floral accessories. You see them in the hair, as a detail on the dress, in jewelry, and of course my favorite the oversized cocktail ring.

All I an say is suit up in casual clothing, comfy shoes - eat a good carb meal as you head out to the bridal stores to view the new 2010 options. And good luck in your search for “The Dress”!
